Ingo Maurer

I have not done a lighting post in a while and this man certainly deserves a post. There is a terrific article in today’s edition of The New York Times on German lighting designer Ingo Maurer and photos of his 12-foot-high hanging mass of emerald-green sponges, which glow from within (hidden L.E.D.’s). The sculpture/light fixture/awesome creation has hand-painted models of butterflies, dragonflies, and lizards. It hangs in an apartment in Munich.
