Impossible to put down, though obviously I had to at times. It’s over 1100 pages = why it deserves two pictures!
I’ve yet to read Three Martini Lunch (one of my best finds I’m sure from this year’s library sale). The other two – well Fiona Davis sure knows how to find a terrific story, but the characters are flat.
A tender memoir about a beautiful, damaged, strong woman.
Yes, I am spectacularly late to the party.
In a dark, dark wood there is a dark, dark house. And in this dark, dark house is a dark, dark room. And in this dark, dark room is a dark, dark closet. And in this closet is a skeleton. Oh Ruth Ware, I love you. Have you read her debut Woman in Cabin 10. Oh please do!!
This is one of the best books I have read this year. Really, it took me this long to get how amazing Shirley Jackson’s work is. Soon I must read her biography.
Oh, I’m so torn. What a terrifically talented writer. As far as the story goes – well, you should read it and tell me what you think. By all means it it is worth reading!
And I do not have a photograph of California by Edan Lepucki, but oh it is well worth a read!! RAVE.
Reread Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier and The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Both RAVES.
No One is Coming to Save Us by Stephanie Powell Watts is growing on me. I read it in mid-July and wasn’t as sure at the time how I felt. Really, it’s quite good.
The Girls by Emma Cline – another one I was late to the party on. Very good, but I’m much more excited about Ms. Cline’s next book something about L.A. Woman oh that one – from what I’ve read – is GOOD!!!!
Dare Me by Megan E. Abbott – Keeps you involved.
The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls – RAVE.
